Lauren as the Dew Drop Fairy in "The Nutcracker"

Lauren Wright has created limited-edition jewelry for 15 years. Her award-winning designs have sold in boutiques and gift shops across the country. Interestingly, Lauren found her love for jewelry design while pursuing a different artistic career: ballet.

Leaving home at age 16 to develop her dance career, Lauren became a full-scholarship trainee with the Pennsylvania Ballet. In Philadelphia, she began creating jewelry from vintage beads and art glass found through local dealers. A loyal group of customers quickly emerged who repeatedly sought Lauren’s charming artistic designs.

Lauren then spent 10 years dancing professionally with the State Ballet of Missouri under the artistic direction of Todd Bolender. During these years, Lauren mastered such principal roles as the Nutcracker’s Sugarplum Fairy, Dew Drop, and Snow Queen. At the State Ballet of Missouri, Lauren also met fellow dancer and now husband, Sean Duus. Throughout her professional dance career, Lauren continued to devote free time to her other passion, and since retiring from ballet in ‘98, Lauren has enjoyed her transition from dance to full-time jewelry design.

The photo above was taken in December 1997, during the final performance of Lauren's 10-year career as a professional ballerina. Lauren would like to thank all those who have supported her ballet career and jewelry business over the years.
